Type 2 Diabetic Weight Loss

This study is testing a new investigational drug called eloralintide to see if it can help people with Type 2 diabetes (T2D) lose weight. Eloralintide is given as a once-weekly injection under the skin. Researchers want to find out how well it works compared to a placebo (an inactive injection that looks the same but has no active drug). Neither you nor your study doctor will know which one you are receiving.

The study lasts about 75 weeks in total. There is a short screening period of up to 5 weeks to check if you qualify, followed by a 64-week treatment period where you receive injections and have regular check-ins, and then a 6-week follow-up period after treatment ends. Visits happen every 4 to 12 weeks. Some visits are in the clinic, and some may be done by phone or video. You will also receive lifestyle counseling, including tips on healthy eating and physical activity, throughout the study at no cost to you.

During the study, you can expect blood draws, urine tests, heart (ECG) tests, eye photos, body composition scans (DXA), questionnaires, and blood sugar monitoring. All study-related treatments and tests are provided at no cost. You may be reimbursed for certain expenses like meals and transportation, and you may receive payment for your time.
